Perform as many full push-ups as possible within two minutes.
The platoon push-up challenge is inspired by UK military pre-training fitness tests, used to establish if the potential recruit has what it takes to hack it as a soldier.
Developing core strength through push-ups can contribute to better muscle and joint stability and strength, helping to reduce the risk of developing overuse injuries from a repetitive activity like running.
Challenge review, verification, scoring and award is only available to Challenge Pack purchasers. You may upgrade your entry by purchasing a challenge pack at any time during the challenge series.
✅ Hands Shoulder Width Apart: Hands must be placed directly under your shoulders, shoulder-width apart, with your fingers facing forward and your arms locked out.
✅ Lower Body to Fist Height from Floor: On each repetition, lower your body until your chest is fist height from the floor and your arms are bent at approximately 90 degrees, keeping your elbows tucked into your side. Push-up to the starting position to complete one repetition.
✅ Use Rolled Up Socks to Validate: In order for us to validate that you lower your chest to a fist height from the floor, we require you to place a rolled-up pair of thick socks on the floor and ensure your chest meets the socks on each repetition.
❌ Do not push your bum in the air: You must maintain a rigid push-up position throughout. Do not push back on to your heels, putting your bum in the air. Breaking your push-up form with end your attempt.
❌ Knees Must Not Touch the Floor: You may pause for rest during the 2-minute period but you must not break form. Breaking form with end your attempt.
