Raising money for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity
On Monday 12th April, Rokman athlete and former Royal Marine Commando, Max Glover, will begin his toughest challenge yet, carrying 100kg over 100km. Max is taking on this incredible challenge to raise money for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals charity who care for people in receipt of heart and lung transplants.
The Charity
Max has chosen to support the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals as in 2019, they cared for his close friend, Julie (pictured), who underwent a double lung transplant due to a genetic disorder.
The charity is charity based, so rely on the donations in order to fund the help and support they provide their patients.
The Challenge
Max will begin his challenge on Monday 12th April and hope to complete it by Sunday 18th April. Carrying a rucksack full of dumbbells weighing a total of 100kg the distance of 100km. 100kg is actually heavier than Max's bodyweight and roughly the same weight as a new born elephant.
Max has promised that if he manages to raise £3,000 before the end of the challenge he end the challenge by carrying the weight up and down Pen Y Fan, the highest point in South United Kingdom.
